BROOKLYN, NY, April 12, 2023 – Opentrons Labworks, Inc., a life sciences company at the forefront of the Lab 4.0 movement, today announced the appointment of James Atwood as General Manager of its Opentrons Robotics business unit. Leveraging Atwood's expertise in genomics and laboratory research tool development, the company is well-positioned to expand commercialization of the OT-2 liquid handling robot and prepare for the next generation of advanced laboratory automation robots.

Prior to joining Opentrons, Atwood served as Vice President of the Omics Business Unit at MOBILion Systems, a genomics tools company. Previously, Atwood served as general manager of applied genomics at laboratory instrument company PerkinElmer, where he played a key role in developing and deploying innovative solutions for sample dissociation, liquid handling, microfluidics, nucleic acid extraction and NGS library preparation.
